Flic en Flac Beach
Flic en Flac Beach is Black River districts most well known beach and is composed of almost 6km of some of the finest beaches in Mauritius.
The world famous Flic en Flac beach stretches for almost 6 kilometers, from the north of Flic en Flac town and all the way down to the Wolmar resort near Tamarin.
Although most people are not aware, Flic en Flac beach is actually only a few hundred metres from neighbouring Tamarin Bay, but effectively blocked off by The Sands Resort on one side, the Tamarin Hotel on the other, and a deserted forested coastline in between.
The beach itself can roughly be divided into three stretches.
The Wolmar stretch caters to the wealthy crowd and is home to some of the expensive resorts to be found in Mauritius. Unless you are a customer of one of the resorts, there is little to do in Wolmar, however the Wolmar public beach is definitely worth a visit.
The central beach offers much of the Flic en Flac nightlife, with numerous bars, restaurants and nightclubs. At the Pasadena commercial centre near the Flic en Flac police station you will find a casino, a pharmacy, various shops, and the Spar Supermarket, the largest one in Flic en Flac.
The north beach is home to a small marina with colorful local fishing boats, as well as one of the largest public beach sand areas on the island. North Flic en Flac offers a little bit more peace and quiet than its more touristy counterparts in the south.
